From the Kendrick Brothers, the creators of hits WAR ROOM, COURAGEOUS and OVERCOMER, comes THE FORGE, a faith-filled new movie with old friends and inspiring new twists. Priscilla Shirer who also starred in the powerful movie "War Room" plays a frustrated mom that only wants the best for her son, Aspen Kennedy, who is the bitter and angry son of a single mom who “struggles to call out the man” in him.

Isaiah, played by Aspen Kennedy from the BET’s drama series Kingdom Business, is offered a job by a successful businessman who takes an interest in him, begins mentoring him, and points him to a redeeming Christian faith.

Through the prayers of his mother and biblical discipleship from his new mentor, Isaiah begins to discover God’s purpose for his life is so much more than he could hope for or imagine.

The Kendrick Brothers, Alex and Stephen write and direct "The Forge Movie, with the hopes that people that view the film will consider the role they can play in shaping the next generation.

“The tagline that we're using for The Forge movie is, ‘Whoever wants the next generation the most will get them,’ because our culture,” Alex Kendrick, the film’s director and co-writer, said, “Our culture wants the next generation. They want their hearts, their minds, their viewpoints, perspectives, their loyalties.”

Single Mothers raising sons

After viewing the Forge Movie, I believe it will give hope to single mothers that are struggling to raise their sons with some of the same issues that the Actor Isaiah Wright's character also faced in the movie. The young man had some growing up to do. A year out of high school with no plans for his future, Isaiah is challenged by his single mom and a successful businessman to start charting a better course for his life. Through the prayers of his mother and biblical discipleship from his new mentor, Isaiah begins to discover God’s purpose for his life is so much more than he could hope for or imagine.

The Forge, which is distributed by Sony Pictures, opens in theaters on August 23
