Nike is partnering with Skims and introducing a new female-focused brand together with the shapewear company co-founded by Kim Kardashian.
I personally was a tab bit surprised about the whole thing due to the fact Nike has always been a strong sports wear athletic brand that partnered with Athletes such as Tiger Wood, Kobe Bryant and Micheal Jordan in the past. Nike has now turned its focus to celebrates and influencers.
About Skims
Skims is an American shapewear and clothing brand co-founded by Kim Kardashian, Emma Grede and Jens Grede. Skims has a focus on body positivity and inclusivity across the brand and practices inclusive sizing. according to reports the company was valued at over $4 billion in July 2023.
Skims has a wide range of sizes ranging from XXS to 5XL. Skims shapewear also comes in nine different shades to accommodate different skin tones. In addition to shapewear, Skims has released an array of collections in lounge wear, lingerie and accessories including bras, underwear, bodysuits, dresses, shorts, sweatpants, tops, hoodies, sweaters and slides.
NikeSKIMS will combine Nike’s "world-class approach to advanced innovation, sport science and athlete insights" with Skims’ "signature style and inclusive solutions for every body" to bring an "entirely new look of training and fitness" for women to market, Nike said.
The brand will consist of fitness clothing, footwear and accessories.
